World Alzheimer’s Day – September 21st

World Alzheimer’s Day is an international campaign created to educate and raise awareness around Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Dementia affects 50 million people across the world, causing memory loss and changes in behaviour, thinking and emotion. Alzheimer’s is a heartbreaking degenerative disease, as anyone with experience around it will know.

However, the purpose of World Alzheimer’s Day is not to grieve or cause upset, but to break the stigma around dementia, share methods of keeping a strong and healthy mind, and celebrate all those who have suffered from or are living with Alzheimer’s. Use this day to join the conversation, and show your support for the disease that affects so many worldwide.
